 CALLED TO ORDER:            7:10 P.M.

 

 MEMBERS PRESENT:

 

            Tolley, Vinup, Avilla, Peterman, Koenig, Hammer, K. Carroll, K. Coleman, Beres, Aboulhosn, Poley, Louden, Sauerwine, Atkinson, Batton, Munch, Jay Wilson, Crowl, Platt, Van-Kramer, Hawkins, Skinner and Morissette.

 

 MINUTES:

 

            MOTION by Jay Wilson to accept minutes from July 2, 2002, 2nd Munch, motion carried.

 

 PRESIDENT REPORT:

 

            Changes to the Firefighters Pension Ordinance, requested by the State of Florida, will be done in two City Council Meetings in October.

 

            The only Melbourne City Council member that had someone running against them is Loretta  Isenberg-Hand.

 

            Discussed Inoperative Communication System Notification Memoranda, this was given to Chief Anglin to look at and get his feed back.

 

            MOTION by Koenig start a petition drive on the Beachside, in the Melbourne City Limits for a Fire and EMS Station, 2nd K. Carroll, motion carried.

 

 VICE-PRESIDENT REPORT:

 

            The Union sent $4,700.00 to MDA, this was from the Poker Run and the Golf Tournament that the Union put on.

 

 TREASURER REPORT:

 

            MOTION by Atkinson to move $88.97 from line 10e to line 10a of the General Fund, this is for IAFF Lodging at the IAFF Convention, 2nd Hammer, motion carried.

 

            MOTION by Avilla to move $1,000.00 from line 1p to line 1c of the Benevolent Fund, this is for a second phone line and to have money in the budget for the rest of the year to pay the phone bills, 2nd Hammer, motion carried.

 

             MOTION by Avilla to accept as amended, 2nd Aboulhosn, motion carried.

 

PIO REPORT:

 

            There will be a picnic on November 10, 2002 at Paradises Beach Park, 2501 N. A1A from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.  Food, tea and lemonade will be furnished.

 

            There will be a Christmas Party some time in December 2002, date, time and place to be announced later.

            President Tolley will be meeting with all three shifts to discuss all options on insurance.

            The Union and the City signed a Memorandum of Agreement on Article 27 Vacancies and Promotions.

 

 OLD BUSINESS:

 

            There will be a committee set up to look at the Donations Policy.
