EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

CALLED TO ORDER:            9:10 A.M.

 

 MEMBERS PRESENT:      

 

            J. Tolley, Vinup, Ken Atkinson, Conte, Michaud and Rethwisch.

 

 MINUTES:

 

            MOTION by Michaud to accept minutes from February 07,2008, 2nd Conte, MOTION by Ken

Atkinson to amend the minutes from February 07, 2008, to read discussed OPS MEMORANDUM 2008-3 reference making Engine 77 and Engine 78 ALS Engines, the Union will be discussing this with Fire Administration.  The Executive Board is opposed to making Engine 77 and Engine 78 ALS.,  Discussed 3 ½ % multiplier, The Union has the numbers now they are 5.9% of payroll, which would be on top of what we pay now which is 4.75%, the Union can take money out of the enhancement benefit account to help pay the cost of the multiplier down or see if the City of Melbourne will help with the cost.  There will be meetings set up to discuss this matter in more detail.  The Union will be in discussion with the City of Melbourne to get the cost below 3%,  MOTION by Ken Atkinson to donate $500.00 to the Jaelyn Rogers Fund, she is a 1 ½ year old with anaplastic apendymoma, a rapidly-growing cancerous Brain tumor, she lives east of St. Petersburg area in Wauchula, Fl., from line 3g of the Benevolent Fund, and recommend to the Zachary Project they donate also, 2nd Conte, motion carried.  Jaelyn’s father was a State of Florida Forestry Fire Fighters but he was layed off and her mother got layed off also, 2nd Rethwisch, both motions carried.

 

 TREASURER REPORT:

 

            MOTION by Michaud to accept Treasurer Report, 2nd Rethwisch, motion carried.

 

            MOTION by Ken Atkinson to donate$1,000.00 to the Zachary Project Golf Tournament at Turtle Creek Golf Course on April 12, 2008, from line 3g of the Benevolent Fund, there will be three teams available, four each, 2nd Rethwisch, motion carried.

 

             The Training Caption position for the City of Melbourne Fire Dept. has been posted.

 

            MOTION by Conte to give one free Union License Plate upon request from the Union Member

            and if the Union Member want another license plate it will be $8.00, 2nd Ken Atkinson, motion carried.
